I'm not in Idaho anymore (walking the bridge)

As I said earlier, I dragged myself out of bed this morning determined to get back into a routine . When I was out in Idaho, I was up with the chickens (or make that the whistle pigs in this case) .  The time difference made it pretty easy to be up early out there since they are on Mountain Time which is two hours behind my time.

We went out everyday except for Thursday while I was there and did a LOT of walking which included climbing hills, lots of hills.  Now hills are pretty rare in my part of Florida, so before I went to Idaho, I had taken to walking across the causeway which crosses the Indian River here.  It was the best thing I could find to help condition me for the hills I was going to face out in Idaho.

I loved being out there with all the wide open spaces and all the hills to climb. If I lived out there, I would be in great shape, because I would be out everyday walking for miles and just feeling the freedom and breathing in the clean air.  One thing I loved out there was the lack of humidity. You could be outside all day climbing the hills and exploring and come back without having to change clothes from sweating so much LOL. :-)

Well I've had a lot to do since I got back to Florida and I haven't been out walking much, so this morning I decided it was time to get off my butt and get moving again.  I headed out early this morning hoping to beat the heat of Florida "almost summer" .  Ha!  who was I kidding??  The sun was already blazing hot in the sky even that early in the morning and the air was saturated with moisture.  But I went anyway, and walked across the causeway and back and then around the park down at the marina.  It wasn't easy mind you . It was not like being out in the cool dry air of Idaho.  The causeway has quite the incline and I got almost to the top, struggling the whole way because I was drowning in the moisture.  I look up and the buzzards are circling overhead.  I'm pretty sure they thought I was going to be their next meal !!  :-)

Oh, but I fooled them. I made it to the top, back down and then back across without keeling over.  And I am going again tomorrow ! (I think hahahaha)

Speaking of walking the bridge. On our way to Shoshone Falls, we crossed this bridge over the Snake River canyon and stopped to take some pictures and just take in the view of the area. Oh my gosh, I love Idaho !!   In one of the next blogs I will talk a bit about this bridge. I walked part way across this one too , but will save that story for another time.

Have a beautiful week and don't forget those who love you the most ~
